Are Darkened Brush prints limited edition?
Most works are open editions, though select releases may be offered in limited numbers. Limited runs will always be clearly marked in the product description.
Are your prints archival quality?
Yes. Our prints are produced using acid-free fine art paper (230 GSM matte) and museum-grade inks designed to resist fading, ensuring long-lasting clarity and depth.
What kind of paper do you use?
We print on a smooth, neutral-white matte paper with a weight of 230 GSM and a thickness of 9.5 mil, chosen for its fine art quality and ability to capture rich detail.
Will the colors match what I see on my screen?
Slight variations may occur due to screen settings and brightness differences, but each print is professionally calibrated for accurate, balanced color.
Packaging & Handling
How are the prints packaged?
Packaging depends on the size of your order:
- Smaller prints are flat-packed in protective sleeves and shipped in rigid envelopes to prevent bending.
- Larger prints are rolled in acid-free sleeves and shipped in sturdy tubes for safe transit.
- Framed prints are carefully packaged with protective corners, cushioning, and real-glass-safe materials to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
How should I store my print if I’m not framing it right away?
Keep your print in its protective sleeve, stored flat in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and humidity until framing.
Shipping & Delivery
Do you offer Free Shipping?
Yes, shipping is free across the United States and Canada.
For international orders, free shipping is available on purchases over $100 USD.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Darkened Brush ships worldwide, including the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and select international regions.
How long does production take?
Each print is made to order. Production (printing, framing, and packaging) typically takes 1–3 business days before shipment.
What are the shipping times?
Once production is complete, orders ship with the following estimated delivery times:
- United States: 2–3 business days
- Canada: 3–5 business days
- International (including the UK): 5–8 business days
Do I need to pay duties or customs fees?
No. All orders are shipped with applicable taxes included. U.S. orders collect sales tax at checkout. For Canadian orders, GST, PST, QST, or HST may apply depending on the province. These are calculated automatically at checkout, you will not be charged additional customs fees upon delivery.
How will my order be delivered?
Orders are shipped directly to the address provided at checkout. Tracking details are provided once your order has been dispatched.
Orders & Returns
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Because each piece is printed on demand, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges.
What if my print arrives damaged?
If your artwork arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days at shop@darkenedbrush.com with your order number and photos. We will issue a replacement or refund.
Production & Availability
Are all artworks always available?
Our catalogue evolves over time. Some works may be retired, archived, or released as seasonal collections.
Framing & Sizing
Are frames available for all prints?
Yes, all artworks can be ordered framed or unframed, with the exception of 20×25 and 24×30 sizes, which are currently offered as prints only. Frames for these larger sizes may become available in the future.
Where can I buy the gothic frames seen in your product images?
The ornate gothic frames featured in our product images are used for display and styling purposes only and are not available for purchase.
If you’re seeking a similar look, we recommend exploring secondhand shops, antique markets, or online marketplaces such as Etsy or eBay, where vintage and gothic-style frames are often available.
What types of frames do you offer?
We offer premium solid oak frames with real glass (1–2 mm thick). Frames are available matted or non-matted.
Do frames include a mat?
Matted options come with a removable white mat for a gallery-style finish. Non-matted options display the artwork edge-to-edge.
How does the sizing work?
Frame size refers to the outer frame. Matted options reduce the visible artwork area. For more information please see our sizing guide.
